Greg Leachman, RFT


Originally from Regina, Saskatchewan, Greg began his forestry career in 1988 working as a Tree Planter and Tree Planting Foreman in Northern Saskatchewan.
Greg graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology with his Forest Technologist Diploma in 1991. Upon, graduating from BCIT, Greg joined Reid Collins and Associates in Vancouver, BC, as a Timber Cruiser and Forest Engineer. While working for Reid Collins and Associates, Greg provided Engineering, PSP Re-measurements, Inventory and Operations timber cruising services on the Coast of British Columbia for the Crown sector of the Canadian Forest Industry.
In 1995, Greg moved to Vancouver Island, accepting an engineering position with MacMillan Blodell at their Sproat Lake Operation in Port Alberni, BC. Greg was part of a crew of six Engineers who managed an annual cut of 350,000m3 on TFL 44 until the doors of the operation were shut in 2003.
Greg then returned to the BC Forest Industry as a consultant in 2003 with co-owner Darin Brown, of Precision West Resource Consultants Ltd.
In 2005, Greg became a part of the Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals as a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT).
In 2007, Precision West formed a partnership with Darren Hiller of DRH Consulting and the group founded Meridian Forest Services Ltd.
Greg and his professional team at Meridian Forest Services Ltd. are committed to providing clients with effective, efficient and safe full-phase engineering services throughout British Columbia.
